This upcoming season, the James Island Soccer program will be competing in AAAA Region 7 for the first time.  The school as a whole is expecting a lot out of the soccer team since they have moved down from 5A to 4A.

Junior Unai Sancho said, “I am expecting to win our region and make it to the state final without a doubt.  I am excited to be on the team as an upperclassman and am looking forward to working hard for the team.”

With the late start to preseason workouts, the soccer team has been working extra hard to get ready for the new teams they will be facing.

Senior Holden Silverman said, “I have high expectations for the upcoming season.  Our team has great potential in succeeding this year if we continue putting the work in on and off the field.  It will not be an easy region for us, so we have to be ready to fight for every game.”

In Region 7, Beaufort, Bluffton, Colleton County, Hilton Head Island, and May River will be competing against the Trojans for the region title.

In 2019, May River won the 3A state championship and then moved up to 4A the following year.

The Trojans are eager to have a chance at playing such talented teams this upcoming season.  Even though the region schedule will be tough, they are expecting to win it to earn the number one seed in playoffs and make a deep run to win state for the school.
